Last year, 2016, the Foundation launched a new project to augment the income of rural residents. The Foundation has chosen to focus on rural areas rather than among the metropolitan poor as out there, are the most financially disadvantaged Filipinos. Livelihood opportunities in most rural areas are limited and the benefit levels to the barest. The Foundation believes that helping these residents can put more meaning to its existence
This new project operates as a soft loan package to rural residents. The Foundation has set aside an initial revolving fund for this project. The idea is to start on a smaller scale to make the project manageable. The applicant is required to submit a simple business plan including a proposed repayment schedule. The Foundation will evaluate the rationale of the project. Interest on the soft loan has been set at the most minimum level only.
The Foundation is glad to announce that last June 2016, it has approved the first soft loan.

As one of the JD PAMANA FOUNDATION’s livelihood project, a soft loan was granted to Pastor Diogenes Gulben of Victory Christian Church Tabogon Cebu( VCC ). Pastor Diogenes is a beneficiary of the ” Hog Raising and Swine Fattening Project ” of the Government and it is required that he has his own hog pen.Hog raising is a very popular source of livelihood in the rural areas. Filipinos believe that through hog raising, their daily needs will be supplemented.

The Foundation granted his soft loan for the construction of his own backyard hog pen for his hog raising business. Even the government is actively involved in this project.
