Being hit by typhoons is never new for the Philippines being a country mostly visited by typhoons. The country had its fair share of typhoon and super typhoons to say the least. But even though hit by tragedies such as this, the Filipino spirit of helping each other out during times of crisis is a known trait to us.
Another super typhoon was experienced by the country during the onslaught of typhoon Mina at the last quarter of 2011. Northern part of the country suffered mostly from this having not only residential but mostly agricultural lands, which are the main income generator for the said region, drowned in water. For weeks, parts of Central Luzon that were mostly affected were travelling on boats instead of their usual land transportation.
JD Pamana Foundation did its share for helping the flooded victims by donating used clothing and financial assistance through the government agency Department of Social Welfare and Development to the disaster stricken areas that mostly needed assistance.
Ms. Geniela I. Soledad, representative from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) graciously received the three (3) boxes of donation of used clothing.
